In Shangaan Tintswalo means
'peace that you bestow upon someone who has given you a meaningful and worthy gift'.

Drop your gaze from the top of the mountain, down to Chapmans Peak Drive, down to where the mountain meets the sea and this is where you will find Tintswalo. The views are incredible, perched literally just above the pebble beach with magnificent views of Hout Bay harbour and the deep red sunsets behind the Sentinel.

The spacious suites are tucked into the mountain in between the coastal milkwood trees, with open plan lounges and bathrooms, opening up onto the deck and an expanse of deep inky blue ocean. Of course the décor has been dictated by the exquisite location and is all sea greens and aquamarine blues, so pretty and chic – mosquito nets, textured throws, each suite with its very own inspiration from islands all over the world and the special Mandela - presidential suite of course! There is also a long wooden deck with heated Jacuzzi and swimming pool to hang out and ‘ take your tea’ either on the gorgeous sunbeds or in the dining area for sunset drinks before embarking off to find a gorgeous restaurant in town or stay and feast with Tintswalo’s fabulous local chef cooking for the guests. Plus in the winter lounge round the large fireplace.
