There exists an option of a sole use vehicle at R3600 per day to facilitate children under 6 on game drives should the family require this.

DAY USE ROOMS
Strictly on request and are dependent on availability of room(s) at a rate of 50% off single public tariff and rooms are only available between 11h00 and 17h00. Any rooms required after 17h00 will be treated as a full additional night and the normal contracted rate attached will apply.
CHILDREN’S MEAL RATES
Children’s meal rates are shown per property on the rates schedule attached to this agreement.
Applied double rates are applicable for adults sharing a room on a per person basis, single room rate to apply when single adult occupies a room.

Soft and alcoholic beverages are not included in the rates except on game drives. This excludes stays at Ulubisi house, Tented Eco Camp and Pioneer Trail, of which local beverages are included in the rate.
• Single supplement rates apply to Kwena Lodge Accommodation only. No single supplement is charged in the Villa accommodation if 2 or more adults are sharing. Single supplement rates apply at the Tented Eco Camp and Pioneer Trail, for adult and children single pax who request not to share a tent.
• Kwena Lodge suites can be split from King beds into twin beds in 7 of the 14 rooms.
• Families and groups are accommodated in the Villas for their comfort and convenience. No children under 12 are accommodated in Kwena Lodge.
• Full Board rate includes accommodation, 2 game drives daily, dinner, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, Junior Ranger Program and mountain biking.

CHILDREN’S POLICY
Pricing
• Children 0 - 5 years of age stay free of charge when sharing with two full paying adults.
• Children 6 – 11 years of age pay 50% of full adult rate regardless of whether they stay in their parent’s room or occupy another room in the Villa.
• Children 12 years and older pay the full adult rate.
• Babysitting in your villa is available at an hourly rate of R150, and needs to be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
Game Drives
• Children under age of 6 not permitted on Game Drives, only on a private vehicle.
• Children under the age of 2 years old are not permitted on a Game Drive for their own safety.
• A private vehicle can be reserved at additional cost of R3000 per day, to facilitate children from 2 - 6 years of age on Game Drives, should the family require this. This option is only bookable 48 hours prior to arrival and is subject to availability.
• The Lodge Team will, upon check-in, endeavour to facilitate young family Game Drives at no additional charge for families with children aged 4 – 6 years of age.
The Junior Ranger Programme
• Is complimentary for all Full Board and Half Board guests with children.
• With a dedicated children’s guide, the program includes educational Game Drives and interactive conservation activities.
• The younger children’s activities will be based mainly around the lodge to stay closer to parents.
• On arrival, families will be informed about the Junior Ranger program and their ranger will enquire about any special requests, dietary, babysitting or otherwise.
• Children will receive a fun Ranger’s backpack and cool safari booklet to fill in throughout their stay. During game drives and other activities with their ranger, kids will be taught how to identify mammals, birds, Fynbos species, and even stars. They will gain a greater understanding of conservation and our precious eco systems.
Additional Family information
• Families are booked into Fynbos Villas and Bush Villas for their convenience (cots are available on request).
• Villa rates are per person.
• Various beds in the villas can be split into a twin configuration.
• Children’s menus are available for lunch and dinner. Please do advise the Reservations Team of any specific dietary requirements so that we may accommodate them.
• If parents wish to have dinner at the lodge without their young children, babysitting and in-room dining can be arranged in the Villas. Parents’ meals can also be delivered to the villa, though our chefs would prefer you to experience Gondwana’s cuisine first hand in the lodge dining areas.
• Villa picnic baskets are available as a lunch alternative for families, as well as fishing picnics subject to availability.
