The Cape Town Huey Combat Mission

The combat mission flight takes passengers on a thrill-a-minute ride sweeping low over the beaches of the untamed West Coast, with a simulated combat mission through a "combat zone" to get your adrenalin pumping!
The Huey is the most extensively used military helicopter globally. During the Vietnam war over 5, 000 of these machines were introduced to the SE Asia region. The versatile aircraft were used for multiple purposes from medical evacuation to people carriers, gun ships to air assault among others.
The specific Huey used on this excursion has a fascinating history. Not only has it done tow tours in Vietnam and spent much time in the training of pilots at Fort Rucker, but it was stolen by a sheriff and used, without consent, during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, before being returned to its owner by a federal court order. A past as exciting as this adds even more interest to the flight for history buffs.
Today the Huey is flown by around 40 countries and is generally considered to be the most widely used helicopter in the world.
